About DECODE
DECODE is a designer owned Zero Waste Innovation Hub based in New York that creates garments that are 100% Zero Waste through creative pattern engineering.
Decode Supply is the zero waste design outlet, built over a decade of research, pattern engineering, and relentless problem solving to prove that making clothes without waste is possible.
We are much more than a brand, & what we build is much more than simply sustainable. We're proof that a garment can be made with absolutely nothing left on the floor.
Our Founder
Danielle Elsener didn't set out to change the fashion industry. She set out to solve a puzzle. What started as an obsession with zero waste pattern making grew into something bigger; a complete design system that eliminates waste at the source, before it ever becomes a problem.
Over the past decade, Danielle has worked with global fashion brands, educational institutions, and industry leaders, including Virgil Abloh and Jony Ive , as a consultant, educator, and designer. Her system has been recognized by the Smithsonian, Wallpaper, Dezeen, and Hypebeast, and won the Evian Activate Movement Grant and iDesign Covid Grant.
She currently teaches on the MFA program at the Fashion Institute of Technology and co-founded the Zero Waste Design Collective, a global community bringing together academics, craftspeople, and industry practitioners to build a fashion industry that designs for good.
Our Mission
Decode exists to close the gap between what the industry knows it should do and what it actually does. We make the sustainable choice the obvious choice through products, education, and production systems that waste nothing.
